Information and support in pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood in order to enable every parent to make informed choices. There are antenatal classes in preparation for parenthood for both single parents and couples, which are friendly and informal. There are breastfeeding counsellors to give support and guidance, and a breast pump hire service. There is also plenty of postnatal support for parents, and work is done towards education at schools.
The ‘experiences register’ provides a chance to talk to someone who has been through experiences such as caesarean section, sleepless nights, breech birth, postnatal depression, home birth, children with allergies, stillbirth, older mothers and more. |
